Children

Story Times
Mother Goose on the Loose
This half-hour story time is for children 18 months and younger and consists of rhymes, stories, songs and much more. Mother Goose on the Loose (MGOL) is held at 10:15 a.m. on Mondays at the Manomet Branch. The program runs for eight weeks and requires registration, as space will be limited. Registration begins June 8th at Manomet.
Tots 'n' Tales
Tots 'n' Tales (TNT) is for children age 3 and under, with a parent or caregiver. This half-hour story time is similar to our Mother Goose on the Loose program, with stories, rhymes, finger plays and songs aimed at active toddlers. TNT is held at 11:00 a.m. on Mondays at the Manomet Branch. No registration is necessary for this program.
Special Events
Space Rangers
At Manomet, the Space Rangers will meet at 10:00 p.m. on Thursdays. Registration for club meetings begins two weeks in advance; it will be necessary to sign up for each meeting. These meetings are free and space will be limited.
Mercury Commanders
Come each week for fun activities and crafts related to the weekly theme. Space will be limited in each session. Mercury Commanders at the Manomet Branch meets on Mondays at 2:00 p.m. Registration begins two weeks in advance of each program. This program is free.
Gemini Mission
Come to weekly meetings for fun activities and crafts related to the week's theme. Meetings are on Mondays at 3:00 p.m. at the Manomet Branch Library. Registration is required and begins two weeks in advance of each meeting. This program is free.
Annual Manomet Pet Show
Calling all cats, dogs, guinea pigs, stuff animals and more! Bring your pet, real or stuffed, to the annual Manomet Branch Library Pet Show on Thursday, August 6th at 7:00 p.m. Awards will be given after the animals are shown. Pets must be well behaved and kept on leashes or in cages during show. Participants must have a permission slip on file before the show. Registration for this free program will begin July 23rd. Please fill out a permission slip upon registration; forms are available at the Manomet Branch Library only.
Ice Cream Social Finale
Celebrate a successful summer with an ice cream sundae on Thursday, August 13th at 7:00 p.m.! The finale is free and registration is requested for summer reading participants. While enjoying ice cream, participants can pick up their Summer Reading Program certificate.

Be sure to turn in your raffle tickets on Thursdays before the library closes at 9:00 p.m. The tickets will be sent to the Main Library in the Friday delivery.

Teens

Teen Writers' Group
Aspiring writers are encouraged to join us on Wednesdays, July 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd and August 12th for a Teen Writers Group. Time will be given to write a short piece as well as to share that piece with the group. On Wednesday, August 12th we will share our finished projects with the group. Pick up a Find Out What's Out There @ your library review form while you are at the Manomet Branch and write reviews of your reading during the summer. Each review form you submit will give you an entry into the end-of-the-summer raffle. You may win a great prize!

How to participate:

1. Sign up during the Summer Solstice Book and Yard Sale on Saturday, June 20th or anytime after the kickoff by visiting the referece desk at the Main Library or the Manomet Branch.
2. Keep track of your reading. This year's games are Critic's Corner and Time 'n' Time Again. Every time you read a book, use the library's online databases, view a film or listen to music or an audiobook for 30 minutes—mark it down on your Time 'n' Time Again log sheet. After you have marked five squares (which equals 2 1/2 hours), you will receive a ticket for the end-of-summer raffle. Every time you fill out a Critic's Corner form for a book, music, film or online database, you will receive an entry for the raffle.
3. Special for this year's themed program: Every time you visit the planetarium, view the sky through a telescope or watch the planets and stars for 30 minutes will also count for both the games.

Manomet Writer's Group

Join Manomet Branch Librarian, Jessica Connelly, for the summer sesion of our writer's group and workshop. At each session, participants shara a short written piece in any genre or style on a given seed phrase and have an opportunity to comment and recieve feedback on their writing.

Manomet History Group

Come join our summer discussion on the Age of Sail and Exploration. Discussion is lively and interesting. Selected titles are available at the Branch Library one month before the discussion.
