Find Out What's Out There @ the Plymouth Public Library
Sign up for the summer reading program at our annual Summer Solstice Book and Yard Sale on June 20th. If you can't make it in that day, sign up anytime at the Main Library or the Manomet Branch.
When you sign up, you will get a sheet to write in your review of three books or audiobooks. This will be your entry into the raffle for great summer reading prizes. When you have filled in the reviews, turn them in at the Reference Desk, the Children's Desk or at the Manomet Branch. If you need more review forms, they will be available at the Reference Desk, the Children's Desk, the Young Adult Desk or the Manomet Branch. You will receive a raffle ticket for the end-of-summer raffle for each review sheet you return.
Teens can also participate in the game Time 'n' Time Again through the Reference Department. Stop by the Reference Desk to pick up a the Time 'n' Time Again log sheet. For every 30 minutes of reading, listening to a book or music, watching a film or using an online database, mark the time on the log sheet. When you have marked five squares (2 1/2 hours), you are eligible for an entry in the end-of-summer raffle. Stop by the Reference Desk or the Manomet Branch to turn in your Time 'n' Time Again log sheet and get your raffle tickets.
Keep cool this summer with a book or a great movie. Check out our lists of books, music and movies you can check out at the library. Don't forget to fill out a review for everything you read. Check out some of the reviews submitted for Find Out What's Out There @ your library.
Like music? Check out the Concerts on the Lawn for the line-up! This year's performers include Jake Hill and 3rd Left!
Beat the heat with Lunar Ice Cream Sundaes on July 1st at 7:00 p.m. at the Main Library. We will make the ice cream then top it off with sprinkles, chocolate syrup and other favorites. Bring your friends! This event is free and registration is requested. It will begin June 17th.
Join us for a Teen Writer's Group on Wednesdays July 1st through July 22nd and Wednesday August 12th at the Manomet Branch Library. Each meeting will start with an idea, then ample time to write. Writers will be encouraged to share their pieces with the group.
